From 2nd to 5th of August in The Le Meridien Moscow Country Club situated near Moscow The Russian Open Golf Championship 2007 took place. Traditionally one day before the golf tournament the Pro-Am tournament between professionals and amateurs took place.
Annually the Russian Open is held on the golf course of the Le Meridien Moscow Country Club an affiliate of GlavUpDK an entity under the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Main Administration for Service to the Diplomatic Corps), which currently is the only 18 holes (pairs - 72) championship course in Russia. This golf course enters into the one hundred of the best golf courses in the world and in the twenty of the best in Europe.

The Russian Open Golf Championship 2007 is on the home straight. On the 4th of August the third round of Tournament has come to the end.
Morning of the third day of competitions was devoted to the end of cut selection: on the eve the rain had prevented players from passing the circle. In the afternoon the second round was completed by all players. Selection stage of The Russian Open Golf Championship 2007 was tightened: a bad weather is in the golf-players road. The second round which is passing on August, 3rd , has been interrupted on the middle.
In the morning those sportsmen who were on the eve prevented by rain, could finish the first round. The leader has remained - Christian Nilsson (Sweden). But a player who showed quite good result (81 points), an Englishman Lee James, has withdrawn: he has damaged his wrist. ...read more

2nd of August in situated near Moscow Nakhabino The Russian Open Golf Championship 2007 took place. The Tournament traditionally passes on the unique Russian floor of a champion level entering into the twenty of best golf courses of Europe in Le Meridien Moscow Country Club.
At 7.50 a.m. on tee (a line of the first impact) there was a starting for four players, then, with breaks of 10 minutes, all the others have begun the game: last start has been given at 13.50. In total on the course send 117 golf-players from 23 countries, including 5 Russians.
However the first day of The Russian Open was saddened with the weather: some hours the game went under the rain from time to time passing in a downpour. On the 31st of July the Gala Reception took place in a Moscow hotel “The Ritz Carlton.” The Reception was held in honor of the Pro-Am tournament, whose Title partner this year is the Main Administration for Service to the Diplomatic Corps, GlavUpDK an entity under the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Pro-Am tournament is played in mixed teams, each consisting of one professional and three amateurs. The Pro-Am is traditionally held one day before the start of the professional tournament.

One day earlier, on August the 1st, there will be a competition among the professionals and the amatures who will participate in the Pro-Am Tour.
