Inteco Russian Open Golf Championship 2008 will be attended by famous “Long John”.
Legendary golfer John Daly is coming to Russia to fight for $2 000 000 in Inteco Russian Open Golf Championship 2008 (13th Russian Open Golf Championship among professionals). This competition which has been a competent tournament of PGA European Tour for 3 years running – one of the main two professional golf tours in world – will take place from 24th until 27th of July on Le Meridien Moscow Country Club Golf Course in Nakhabino, Moscow region.
American John Daly first stepped on “green” in the age of four, and later became a legend in the world of golf. The nickname “Long John” accompanies him since 1991 after he scored a victory in PGA Championship - bunkered at the record long distance. Furthermore, the golfer has won prize title of Utah Classic (1990), B.C. Open (1992), BellSouth Classic (1994), British Open (1995) and other championships. This year, the path of the player to the Russian tournament lies through one of the largest Golf Championships – British Open.

Apart from Daly, there will be 143 players from 30 countries taking part in Inteco Russian Open, among whom worldwide prominent PFA sportsmen such as: Hennie Otto, Scott Drummond, Jose Manuel Lara, Markus Brier, Philip Archer, Robert-Jan Derksen, David Frost, Henrik Nystrom, Jarmo Sandelin, Martin Wiegele, Sven Struver and Edoardo Molinari. Organizers are expecting more than 10 000 people to visit tournament this year. Live transmission broadcasted by channel 7TV as well as foreign Eurosport, Sky, Golf Channel will be seen by more than 1 billion viewers worldwide.
