Grand Evening Pro-Am

The great reception at the club Grand Havana Room was organized by GlavUpDK at the Russian MFA (Main Administration for Service to the Diplomatic Corps at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs) in the honor of Pro-Am tournament – annual golf contest among professionals and amateurs. Pro-Am tournament will take place on 23d of July in Nakhabino, Moscow region and by tradition will give a start to Inteco Russian Open Golf Championship 2008 (13th Russian Open Golf Championship among professionals) which will be held at the same place from 24th until 27th July.

This evening at the Grand Havana Room –one of the elite places of the capital, which is part of well known worldwide cigar club branch, was attended by businessmen and politicians, stars of sport and culture, famous artists and TV presenters, among whom was legendary John Daly, MUS TV VJ – Archi, actor Aleksandr Nosik, singer Roman Arhipov (from band “Chelsea”) and others.
During the official part of the reception, a lot of welcoming speeches were made by the main organizers of the Inteco Russian Open Golf Championship 2008: Ivan Ivanovich Sergeev (the head of the Main Administration for Service to the Diplomatic Corps at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs GlavUpDK), Jose Maria Zamora (tournament director of Inteco Russian Open Golf Championship 2008 (European PGA Tour)), Hans Koeleman (president of AMS, organizer and promoter of Inteco Russian Open Golf Championship 2008) and Gennadii Terebkov (director of External Communication department ZAO “Inteco”).

During the reception there was announcement of sponsors’ teams who will play in Pro- Am tournament. Altogether, there will be 24 teams with 4 golfers per team: 3 amateurs and 1 professional. There will be players from Inteco, BMW, “Imperial Collection”, Rolex, Evian, House Loft, AMS, BOG, Neo Consult and other companies fighting for the title of Pro-Am Champion. From the GlavUpDK side there will be 3 teams as well as “Park Place” team consisting of international ambassadors and created in the honor of 15 year friendship between GlavUpDK and Hines (USA) – one of the world-wide recognized leaders in managing real estate with more than 50 years of experience, taking part in the contest.

Among professionals play Per-Ulrik Johansson – the winner of Russian Open Golf Championship 2007 and John Daly – the star of world golf, known by the nickname “Long John”. Among amateurs there are Elena Baturina – head of ZAO “Inteco”, Olympic gymnast Vera Shimanskaya, lawyer Aleksandr Dobrovinskii, hockey player Rinat Shamsytov, head editor of TV-channel “Russia Today” Aleksei Nikolov, winner of the Youth Tournament Faldo Series Elizaveta Nikulina, Mihail Morozov and others.
